Residents of Khairatabad in Hyderabad were left in a state of panic after a baby crocodile emerged from an open drain during heavy rainfall on Wednesday evening. The sight of the crocodile crawling out of the overflowing drain shocked the onlookers.
The incident was immediately reported to the police, who then alerted the Forest Department. The crocodile was spotted near a bridge construction site over the drain. A large crowd gathered to witness the unusual sight, speculating that the crocodile may have been swept away by the floodwaters.
After a four-hour-long operation, the Forest Department, along with assistance from the Disaster Response Force (DRF) teams and the police, successfully captured the crocodile. The reptile was later transferred to the Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad for further care and protection.
