The president of Telangana State Rythu Bandhu Samithi, Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of making baseless allegations against the State government. He stated that the people of Telangana will not support the policies of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Reddy made these remarks during a press conference at the BRSLP office.
Reddy mentioned that the people of Warangal were eagerly waiting to see if the Prime Minister would announce funds for their city. However, he claimed that Modi only delivered a political speech during his visit. Reddy also criticized the Prime Minister for laying the foundation stone for a wagon industry instead of the long-awaited Kazipet Railway Coach Factory, which was moved to Gujarat.
The BRS leader accused Modi of focusing solely on political criticism during his time in Warangal. He pointed out the Prime Minister’s mention of corruption in the State government while ignoring corruption scandals within his own party, such as the Vyapam scam in Madhya Pradesh. Reddy alleged that BJP leaders were involved in corruption, while the Central government was targeting opposition parties with investigations from agencies like the Income Tax (IT) department, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), and Enforcement Directorate (ED). He dismissed all of Modi’s allegations as baseless and stated that the people of Telangana will not support the BJP’s policies, nor will the party have another chance at the Centre.
Reddy questioned the fulfillment of promises made in the AP Reorganisation Act. He highlighted the absence of a tribal university in Mulugu and the lack of any announcement regarding a steel plant in Bayyaram. Reddy accused the Prime Minister of merely reading from a script written by State BJP leaders.
Furthermore, Reddy expressed concern over the privatization of public sector companies by the Central government. He stated that his party is willing to discuss the issue of vacant jobs in both State and Central government departments. Reddy alleged that Modi has harmed the economy and is only working for the benefit of industrialists like Adani and Ambani.
