    Secunderabad: The Drill Ground of the Centre has been renamed Palani Drill Ground in honor of Havildar Late K Palani, who sacrificed his life during the Galwan conflict. A bust of Havildar Late K Palani was unveiled by Lieutenant General Adosh Kumar, AVSM, SM, Director General, Regiment of Artillery.

    The unveiling ceremony was attended by Havildar K Palani’s family and another war hero from the Galwan conflict, Havildar Tejinder Singh, Vir Chakra of the 3 Medium Regiment. Havildar Late K Palani, a member of the 81 Medium Light of Indian Artillery, lost his life on June 15–16, 2020, during the Galwan conflict and was posthumously awarded the Vir Chakra.

    He had received his military training at the Artillery Centre, Hyderabad.
