The polling for the Parliamentary elections in Mahabubnagar has ended, with an average of 70% voter turnout across various assembly constituencies in Nagarkurnool and Mahabubangar parliament segments on Monday.
Voting started slowly in the morning with few people at polling booths, but picked up as the day went on. By afternoon, most polling stations had 45-49% turnout. In the evening, more people came out to vote.
The low turnout may be due to the hot summer weather. Despite some rain in the morning, many people were hesitant to leave their homes.
Both BJP and Congress candidates, D.K Aruna and Vamshi Chand Reddy, are confident of winning. DK Aruna cast her vote near a polling booth in Mahabubnagar and expressed confidence in BJP’s performance in Telangana.
In Mahabubnagar, BJP’s DK Aruna is expected to do well in some constituencies, while Congress may have an advantage in others. It is still uncertain who will win the people’s mandate in Mahabubnagar.
The district administration, led by collector G Ravi Nayak and SP Harshavardhan, ensured a smooth election process with constant monitoring through CCTV cameras. No major incidents were reported at any polling stations.
