In Mahabubnagar, Excise Minister V Srinivas Gowd inaugurated a plantation drive of 4.2 lakh saplings to celebrate the end of India’s Diamond Jubilee Independence celebrations. The district administration aims to plant over 55 lakh plants as part of the Haritha Haaram program this year.
During the event, the Excise Minister emphasized the importance of trees in keeping the environment cool, providing fresh air, and maintaining a balanced temperature. He also mentioned that trees contribute to a healthy life. The government is planning to introduce regulations that require the planting of trees before giving permission for house construction.
The Minister praised Chief Minister KCR for his vision of making Telangana a green state through the Haritaharam program. Nurseries have been established in every village and municipality in the state to support the program by supplying plant saplings during the rainy season.
In Mahabubnagar, the target is to plant 55 lakh saplings this year. Currently, 4-5 lakh saplings have been planted, and another 4.25 lakh will be planted in the coming days to reach the goal by the end of the year.
