AIMIM Leader Criticizes State Government for Ignoring Centre’s Injustice
Hyderabad: AIMIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi criticized the state government on Friday for not mentioning the “injustice done to Telangana by the Centre” in its annual budget. During a discussion in the Assembly, he urged BJP MLAs to request their national leadership to help Telangana.
Owaisi pointed out that Telangana has a fiscal deficit of over ₹54,000 crore. He expressed disappointment that the budget speech by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka did not include any criticism of the Centre’s treatment of the state. He alleged that the Union government was not giving Telangana its fair share of funds and hoped that BJP leaders from the state would raise this issue with their party.
The AIMIM leader also criticized BJP members for demanding a name change for Osmania University. He accused them of trying to create religious divisions instead of focusing on important national issues. He urged them to address the 152 issues across 24 central ministries instead of engaging in divisive politics.
Owaisi further raised concerns about the lack of transparency in government orders (GOs) and budget releases (BRs). He claimed that only 34% of GOs were available online, while the remaining 66% were not accessible. He also highlighted delays in clearing Aarogyasri dues and urged the state government to organize a meeting to resolve the issue.
Additionally, he pointed out discrepancies in budget allocations for minority welfare. While the government allocated ₹3,000 crore, only ₹1,000 crore was released, with most funds being diverted to Telangana Minority Residential Schools. He also demanded an investigation into Wakf land dealings and asked the government to release any reports on the matter.
