Hyderabad: Osmania University has achieved international recognition thanks to the efforts of Raghupathy, the director of its Educational Multimedia Research Centre (EMRC). He was recently awarded the prestigious Best Short Film Award at the 16th International Short Film Festival held in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
Raghupathy received the award for his short film titled ‘Reaching the Unreached’ in the development category. Along with the honor, he was presented with a cash prize of ₹50,000, a trophy, and a certificate.
The short film has also been selected for screening in the human rights category. According to officials from Osmania University, the film highlights the struggles of tribal families living in the forest regions of Mulugu and Bhupalpally districts. These families had to migrate from Chhattisgarh due to political conflicts.
This achievement not only brings pride to the university but also sheds light on important societal issues through the medium of storytelling.
