    Osmania University in Hyderabad presented its annual budget for 2024-25, showing a deficit of Rs 487.03 crore. The budget was presented by Professor V Appa Rao from the Department of Commerce. The ‘Block Grant’ from the State Government for the upcoming financial year was set at Rs 487.03 crore, which is Rs 30 crore more than the previous year.

    The estimated receipts for the university are Rs 718.86 crore, while the estimated expenditure is Rs 796.45 crore, resulting in a deficit of Rs 44.68 crore. Professor D Ravinder, the vice chancellor of OU, emphasized the university’s initiatives and accomplishments since December 2023. He also requested the government to consider providing additional funding to cover the deficit and ensure smooth operations.
