On Tuesday, the 1 EME Centre in Secunderabad organized an Agnipath outreach programme aimed at educating young people about the new qualification criteria for the Agnipath scheme. The scheme now accepts applicants with Class X qualifications in ITI, diploma, or professional courses. Army officials stated that the outreach programme also aims to inform individuals in various trades of ITI, such as mechanical and electronic, as well as welder/refrigeration mechanics. This will allow qualified persons in numerous ITI trades to apply for the scheme and earn bonus marks during selection and recruitment. Brig. Suresh G, Commandant of EME Centre, highlighted the transformative reform of the Agnipath scheme and its eligibility criteria, selection procedure, and benefits for Agniveers who complete their four-year terms of engagement under the scheme. The outreach programme seeks to spread awareness among youth about these key features.
