A drone attack happened in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, and one person died while another was hospitalized. The mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, reported that there were more than 20 drones headed for the city, but their air defences shot them down. He also advised people to stay in shelters because the attack was “massive.” A fire broke out at a company premises in the Holosiivskyi district, according to the mayor.
There have been 13 attacks in May in Kyiv by Russian forces, as reported by the head of the local civil and military administration, Serhii Popko. Reports of drone attacks in Russia have been increasing over the past few weeks, usually in regions bordering Ukraine. Two people were killed on Saturday due to shelling in those areas, and Moscow blames Kyiv and its Western supporters for the escalating number of attacks and sabotage operations, including on the Kremlin. However, Ukraine has denied involvement.
