Polling in the Old City of Hyderabad for the Assembly elections started off slowly on Thursday morning. The polling booths were nearly empty, with only a few voters entering in small groups. Despite efforts by election authorities, public representatives, candidates, and community leaders to create awareness, people did not show up to vote.

One voter named Shaik Samad, from Talabkatta, went to cast his vote with his wife at around 9:30 am. Due to the low turnout, they were able to complete the voting process in less than five minutes. They went to a government school where there were only three or four people present. Shaik Samad mentioned that it took them just a couple of minutes to vote.
