The Telangana State Chief Electoral Officer, Vikas Raj, has asked District Authorities to hold weekly meetings with political parties and address any concerns they may have. Raj wants the authorities to ensure that claims and objections are handled smoothly. He spoke with all District Election Officers (DEOs) on Wednesday, discussing election preparations. The DEOs will send proposals for returning officers for the upcoming assembly elections, and start preparing First Level Checking (FLC) of the EVM’s from June 1. Raj also discussed identifying state and district-level master trainers, disposal of application forms, and preparing the supplementary electoral roll.
Raj emphasized the need for SVEEP activities in low voter turnout areas and asked the DEOs to come up with an action plan. He also requested that a social media team be engaged by the DEO office to monitor relevant posts. The status of EPIC card printing and delivery was also reviewed.
