Rangareddy: The district administration in Rangareddy has started revising the electoral rolls in preparation for the upcoming Gram Panchayat elections. According to officials, this process will continue until October 29, and the final voter list will be published on January 6 next year.

To ensure transparency, District Collector K. Shashank held an all-party meeting at the district Collectorate’s Conference Hall on Wednesday. Representatives from various political parties attended the meeting, which was chaired by the Collector, who is also the district magistrate.

The Collector asked political party representatives to cooperate with the election staff during the door-to-door survey. This survey is part of the Special Summary Revision (SSR), where new names can be added to the voter list for free. The survey will continue until October 18. He emphasized that voter names must be carefully checked polling station-wise during this process.

The door-to-door survey is being conducted by Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to confirm whether all family members are listed in the voter rolls. The Collector reiterated that the final voter list will be published on January 6. He encouraged political parties to work together to create a foolproof voter list.

Additionally, the Collector suggested that polling stations could be divided or new ones set up if needed. If errors are found in the voter roll, another door-to-door survey will be conducted to correct or remove names, and steps will be taken to prevent duplication. He also asked political parties to appoint agents for each polling booth once the booths are identified.
