Hyderabad: Deputy Commissioner of Police North Zone, S Rashmi Perumal, organized awareness programs at Geetanjali Devashray School in Gopalapuram and St Andrews School in Bowenpally. The sessions were attended by 950 students.
The purpose of these programs was to educate students about important issues that affect their health and safety. Topics included physical and mental health, cybercrimes, drug abuse, and gender sensitivity.
Students actively participated, asking questions and clearing their doubts. They learned about maintaining good health, recognizing signs of mental health problems, and seeking help when needed.
The officer also spoke about online safety. She explained how to recognize cyber threats, protect personal information, and be cautious with online transactions and communication.
The dangers of drug abuse were highlighted, along with its effects and the importance of making healthy lifestyle choices. Additionally, students were taught to respect all genders, address gender biases, and foster an inclusive environment.
The goal of the program was to empower students to make informed decisions, develop healthy habits, and understand their social responsibilities. This contributes to a safer and more supportive school and social environment. The students’ responses and interactions were positive and proactive.
