Three MPs in Telangana have resigned from their positions as legislators, and another MP is likely to follow suit. However, these vacant seats will not be filled until the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

In the recent election, seven MPs in the state ran for MLA positions. Out of the seven, three were successful, while the BJP MPs Bandi Sanjay, Dharmapuri Arvind, and Soyam Bapurao were unsuccessful.

Revanth Reddy, the Malkajgiri MP, emerged victorious as an MLA from Kondagal and is set to take oath as Chief Minister on Thursday. He has already resigned from his MP post. Uttam Kumar Reddy, a senior Congress leader and former MP from Nalgonda, won as an MLA from Huzurnagar and resigned from his MP position on Tuesday. Kotha Prabhakar Reddy, the BRS leader and Medak MP, won the Dubbaka Assembly seat. It is unclear when he will resign from his MP post. Normally, when an MP or MLA resigns, a by-election is held within six months to fill the vacant seat. However, since the tenure of these four MPs will end in April 2024, which is only four months away, there is no chance of a by-election. Therefore, these four parliamentary seats will remain vacant until then.
