Post Graduate students of Nizam College in Hyderabad are protesting against the college authorities due to water shortage and poor food quality in the girl’s hostel at the University College of Science, Saifabad.

The students have been protesting in front of the college for the past three days, demanding alternative water supply and accommodation at Osmania University Hostel.

They have expressed their frustration with the college authorities, as the hostel they are currently living in lacks proper facilities and water supply. The female students have to share a single bed, and around 30 students are cramped into one large room.

One student named Navya said that they have decided to hold a silent protest every day until the college authorities clarify whether they will accommodate them in the OU hostel or not.

Another student named Pushpa mentioned that they have been facing various problems in the hostel for months. The dorm at the University College of Science, Saifabad is poorly equipped, and the main issue is the lack of water, which leads to the girls skipping their baths. Despite bringing up this issue to the college officials multiple times, no action has been taken.

One student pointed out that there is only one bore well for the girls’ hostel, which is not sufficient for around 300 residents. Additionally, the quality of breakfast and dinner provided in the hostel is poor.

The students are determined to continue their protest until their concerns are addressed by the college authorities.
