Government school students in Telangana will receive new uniforms with updated designs and patterns starting next academic year. The School Education department will supply around 27,391 students with two pairs of uniforms for free. The cloth for the uniforms, 1,26,96,313.30 metres, will be procured from Telangana State Handloom Weavers Cooperative society limited (TSCO). The new uniform for girls in Class I-III will be a frock with a pocket on the right and belt rings stitched with suiting cloth. The uniform for girls in Classes IV and V will be a skirt and shirt with two pockets and straps in the suiting color. Girls in Classes VI-XII will wear a Punjabi-style dress with a waistcoat and straps in the suiting color. Boys will wear a red and ash-colored shirt with two pockets and shoulder loops. Boys in Classes I-VII will wear shorts, while pants are prescribed for students in Classes VIII-XII.
