The new Dr BR Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat was inaugurated on Sunday with religious ceremonies, including yagams, homams, and pujas. Vedic scholars and priests performed various rituals in front of the building throughout the day. The ceremonies began at 5 am and continued until the arrival of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao later that afternoon.
Roads and Buildings Minister V Prashant Reddy and his wife participated in the yagam, completing all the rituals. The CM participated in the ‘Purnahuti’ of the yagam, and all other ministers, leaders, MPs, MLAs, corporation chairmen, and officials also took blessings from the priests at the ceremony.
KCR unveiled a plaque and cut a ribbon to officially inaugurate the new Secretariat at 1:25 pm. He then traveled around the building in an electric vehicle before reaching his chambers on the sixth floor. There, he offered special prayers and was greeted by a galaxy of leaders.
To ensure the smooth conduct of the inaugural function, heavy security was deployed both inside and outside the Secretariat, causing traffic restrictions and hardships for commuters in the Necklace Road and Tank Bund areas.
