A new railway line connecting Telangana, Odisha, and Andhra Pradesh has been approved. This project has been given the green light by the Union cabinet and is part of eight new railway initiatives across India.

The new railway line, named the Malkangiri – Pandurangapuram line via Bhadrachalam, aims to provide better connectivity. It will make traveling easier, reduce logistics costs, lower oil imports, and cut down on carbon dioxide emissions.

This railway line will extend over a distance of 173.62 km. It will connect Malkangiri, East Godavari, and Bhadradri Kothagudem, thereby linking three states: Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana.

These projects are expected to improve logistical efficiency by connecting currently unconnected areas. This will enhance transportation networks, streamline supply chains, and boost economic growth. The projects are part of the PM-Gati Shakti National Master Plan, which focuses on integrated planning for seamless connectivity of people, goods, and services.
