Mitt Arv, an innovative LegacyTech platform from India, has entered the Indian market in Hyderabad. The platform focuses on effective legacy planning and the well-being of individuals and families, addressing their financial security and emotional fulfillment. Vishal Mehta, who works for Microsoft in Singapore, started Mitt Arv in early 2022 with Ashwin Jain, the co-founder and Chief Technical Officer of the startup based in Hyderabad.

The Covid-19 pandemic has emphasized the importance of treasuring cherished memories with loved ones. Additionally, recent disclosures about a significant amount of unclaimed funds in nationalized banks have come to light. Mitt Arv aims to equip users with advanced tools for legacy planning to secure enduring legacies for future generations. The platform seeks to redefine legacy planning in India and reshape how individuals, families, and friends prepare for the future.

Vishal Mehta, the founder of Mitt Arv, was deeply impacted by the death of a fellow IIM-Calcutta batchmate during the Covid-19 Delta wave. This experience prompted him to take action and craft a financial will to safeguard his assets. However, he realized that there was a lack of accessible tools for this purpose, leading to the creation of Mitt Arv.

Mitt Arv draws on personal experiences and aims to simplify the process of documenting an individual’s assets. Vishal Mehta encountered challenges while transferring his assets from Singapore to India, which inspired him to create a platform like Mitt Arv. The older generation still possesses physical documents, but digital technology has shifted everything to digital formats. Platforms like Mitt Arv are crucial for succession planning and ensuring accessible information for loved ones.

Currently available in beta version on Google’s Android platform, Mitt Arv offers two key features: The Emotional Will and the Asset Vault. The Emotional Will allows users to share messages with loved ones in text, audio, or video formats. Users can specify when these messages should be delivered. The app also includes a trusted contact who will receive updates about the user’s well-being. If there is no response from the user for 90 days, Mitt Arv contacts the trusted contact to inquire about their status. If the user has passed away, the emotional will is released and conveyed to the designated recipient.

Vishal Mehta describes the Emotional Will as an emotional bequest, a message to communicate with friends and family after one’s passing.
