Hyderabad: The State IT and Industry minister D Sridhar Babu stated that the Congress government is working on fulfilling all promises made during the Assembly elections. He mentioned that guidelines are being prepared for giving a bonus of Rs.500 per quintal to paddy farmers.
In a media interaction on Saturday, the Minister assured that the State government will buy all the paddy produced in Telangana, so farmers do not need to worry about selling their crops. He criticized the BJP and BRS parties for trying to discredit the State government regarding paddy procurement, calling it a tactic to gain advantage in the upcoming Parliament elections.
Sridhar Babu expressed confidence in the Congress winning 12 seats in the Lok Sabha elections in Telangana, claiming that the opposition parties are not strong enough to compete. He also mentioned that an investigation is ongoing in the phone-tapping case, with assurances that those responsible will face consequences. The Minister condemned KT Rama Rao’s allegations of phone tapping against Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and other Ministers, stating that such actions are not supported by the Congress government.
