The BJP in the state of Khammam is making changes to its district units ahead of the Parliament elections. The state party office announced that 12 district unit presidents have been replaced and 35 new district presidents have been appointed.
One of the notable changes is the reassignment of Galla Satyanarayana as the district president of Khammam for the second time. BC leader KV Ranga Kiran has been given the leadership role in Bhadradri-Kothagudem district.
The selection of these leaders is strategically aligned with the BJP’s goal of making progress in the upcoming Parliament polls, especially in Khammam district. Galla Satyanarayana, a prominent figure in the Kamma community, has been reappointed to acknowledge the potential influence of voters from this community.
Khammam district has historically been known as a ‘Kamma’ district, with the Kamma community playing a significant role in politics across various parties. The BJP has followed this trend by appointing a district president from the influential Kamma community.
The decision to retain Galla Satyanarayana, who was also a contender in the recent Assembly elections, shows the party’s recognition of his contributions. BC leader KV Ranga Kiran’s appointment also acknowledges the strength of the BC (Kapu) community in the region.
Both Galla Satyanarayana and Ranga Kiran, who have strong connections with key party leaders, are actively seeking to contest in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
