Chicken and egg sales have dropped across the district due to fears of bird flu. Many buyers are avoiding poultry, leaving markets empty. As a result, chicken sellers are suffering heavy losses.
To ease public concerns, the government and doctors have been making announcements to assure people that consuming chicken and eggs is safe. Meanwhile, chicken vendors are also coming up with creative ways to restore public confidence.
On Sunday, the owners of Asma Poultry Farm organized a “chicken mela” in Kummariwada and RB Nagar in Bhongir. They distributed free chicken pakodi to attract people. As soon as the news spread, large crowds rushed to the shops.
Around 200 kg of chicken pakodi was given away, and all of it was finished within just 30 minutes. The vendors reassured people that properly cooked chicken does not cause bird flu, so there is no need to worry. Officials praised the initiative for helping to clear misconceptions.
