The old records of the Erstwhile MCH in Hyderabad, now under QQSUDA’s custody, are neglected and covered in dust and spider webs. These important files are stored in a deteriorating building labeled ‘General Elections Strong Room MCH Hyderabad’ near Salarjung Museum.

The rooms housing the records look abandoned and eerie, resembling a scene from a movie like Indiana Jones. The building is slowly decaying, putting valuable information at risk. Concerns have been raised about the future of these records by activists fighting to protect the city’s history and culture.

Employees at QQSUDA are also worried about the decaying structures, as the agency is responsible for restoring heritage buildings in the Charminar area. Officials have acknowledged the issue and stated that there is a proposal to repair the structure, but it is unclear what will happen to the records.
