A large rally took place in Jogulamba Gadwal District, from the District Collectorate to Krishnaveni Junction, to celebrate the appointment of Neeli Srinivasulu Valmiki as the Chairman of the District Library. Thousands of Congress party workers joined the rally with great enthusiasm.
At Krishnaveni Junction, Minister Ponnam Prabhakar and AICC Secretary Sampath Kumar unveiled a statue of Sardar Sarvai Papanna Goud, a historic leader. Following this, Neeli Srinivasulu Valmiki was officially sworn in as the Library Chairman by Dr. Riaz, the State Library Chairman, in a grand ceremony.
Minister Ponnam Prabhakar congratulated Neeli Srinivasulu Valmiki on his new role. Several important leaders attended the event, including Gadwal Congress in-charge Saritha Tirupathayya Yadav, Municipal Chairman B.S. Keshav, and Mahbubnagar Municipal Chairman Anand Goud.
In his speech, Minister Prabhakar highlighted the significance of leaders like Sarvai Papanna Goud, Jyoti Rao Phule, and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, who inspire future generations. He emphasized the importance of libraries for students preparing for competitive exams, and expressed his hope that Gadwal would become a top district in securing jobs.
The Minister also shared the success story of a Dalit who became the Library Chairman in Siddipet and expressed pride in Neeli Srinivasulu Valmiki, a leader from the Valmiki community, for achieving this position in Gadwal.
Prabhakar praised the Telangana state government’s efforts under Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao to improve the Mahbubnagar district. He mentioned various welfare schemes, such as free transportation for women in RTC buses, subsidized cooking gas, free electricity up to 200 units, and a health insurance scheme covering up to 10 lakh rupees.
He also talked about the government’s initiatives, including the approval of 3,500 Indiramma houses and a 2 lakh rupee loan waiver for farmers. For larger loans, partial waivers are also being offered.
Minister Prabhakar addressed the opposition’s criticism and encouraged Congress workers to be prepared to defend the government’s actions. He reaffirmed the Congress party’s commitment to justice for SC, ST, BC, and minority communities, promising measures like a caste-based census and fair reservation policies.
He concluded by urging party members to stay strong and focused, reminding them of the party’s long-standing dedication to its goals, even during times when it has not been in power. He encouraged them to carry the party’s flag forward with pride.
