Hyderabad: CPI Secretary Dr. K Narayana expressed his support for the recent demolition of the N Convention center, owned by film star A Nagarjuna. He challenged the Revanth Reddy-led government to also reclaim lands occupied by leaders of the AIMIM party.
During his visit to the site where N Convention was demolished, Narayana criticized Nagarjuna for allegedly earning thousands of crores by constructing a function hall on government land that was part of a lake. He urged the government to seize the money earned through this illegal construction and use it to build houses for poor people.
Narayana remarked that while Nagarjuna may be a popular figure, it is not acceptable to encroach on government land for personal gain. He suggested that Nagarjuna could easily earn money through his acting career without resorting to illegal activities.
The CPI leader further pointed out that when the TRS government first came to power, they took action against those who had encroached on government lands, but this effort was short-lived. He noted that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, through the HYDRAA demolition drive, was tackling a difficult issue. Narayana emphasized that no one had occupied more land in the city than the MIM leaders and called on the government to reclaim these lands urgently.
Additionally, Narayana accused former minister Ch Malla Reddy of occupying government lands to establish colleges and universities. He claimed that Malla Reddy earned thousands of crores from students through donations and demanded that HYDRAA take action against all encroachers.
