Government Approves New Master Plan for Nalgonda Town
The government has approved a new Master Plan for Nalgonda town through a Government Order (GO), which is being hailed as a plan acceptable to all residents. Former Municipal Chairman Burri Srinivas Reddy and Town Congress President Gummula Mohan Reddy made this announcement during a press meet at Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy’s camp office in Nalgonda on Saturday.
The leaders criticized the previous BRS government for delaying the approval of the new Master Plan. They explained that the old Master Plan from 1987 had become outdated and that a new plan was prepared in 2014 to address the town’s growing infrastructure needs. However, they accused the BRS government of intentionally delaying its approval, causing significant challenges for the people of Nalgonda.
They also highlighted that out of 132 municipalities in Telangana, 12 were chosen for a pilot project to implement new Master Plans. Despite this, they claimed that the BRS government failed to approve any Master Plan for these municipalities. They called this inaction a clear sign of negligence.
The Congress leaders credited Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy for his efforts in securing the approval of the new Master Plan after the Congress government came to power. They emphasized that this achievement would benefit the residents of Nalgonda town.
Additionally, the leaders addressed recent claims by BRS working president KTR, who alleged that municipal workers had not received salaries for four months. They clarified that a Rs 22 crore stamp duty check from the Registration Department had already been submitted to the Treasury Department. They blamed the delay in processing these funds on the ‘Kubera system’ introduced by the BRS government and urged people to avoid spreading false information.
As a gesture of gratitude, Congress leaders performed a “milk abhishekam” (a ritual offering of milk) on flex banners featuring Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy. This act symbolized their appreciation for the leaders’ efforts in securing the Master Plan approval.
