The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Rajahmahendravaram Central Prison, M Ravi Kiran, has denied the false claims about TDP president Chandrababu Naidu’s declining health in jail. According to records from the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Naidu’s weight actually increased during his time in jail.

Ravi Kiran held a press conference to address the allegations made by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) regarding Naidu’s health and security. He assured everyone that Naidu was being well taken care of and provided with the necessary facilities. The prison administration is also ensuring his safety and following all required provisions.

Regarding medication, Naidu brought his own medicines when he entered Rajahmahendravaram prison. The jail’s medical officers are closely monitoring his medications to ensure he receives the necessary treatment. According to NHRC records, Naidu’s weight increased from 66 kilograms to approximately 68.7 kg during his imprisonment. Currently, he weighs 67 kilograms, still one kilogram more than his initial weight.

Ravi Kiran mentioned that the jail authorities are taking extensive precautions to monitor Naidu’s health. They conduct vital sign checks three times a day to dismiss rumors of significant weight loss. As for the dehydration complaint, Naidu was promptly provided with oral rehydration solutions (ORS) and his fluid intake was closely monitored by jail doctors.

In response to Naidu’s skin allergy, the prison authorities sought assistance from the Superintendent of the Government General Hospital (GGH). Experts from GGH visited the prison and provided the necessary medicines based on their advice. Ravi Kiran also assured everyone that strict security measures have been implemented to ensure Naidu’s safety.

As a high-profile prisoner, Naidu is under continuous surveillance with a dedicated team of wardens assigned to him. A Jailer inspects the food and other items brought to Naidu during the mulaqaat facility to ensure his safety and security. Additionally, no other prisoner or guard is allowed beyond the designated area when Naidu leaves his barrack until he returns to the jail’s main gate.
