World Water Day Celebrated in Nagarkurnool
World Water Day was celebrated in a grand manner in Nagarkurnool district. The event was organized by Vasavi Club and Vanita Club at the Chandubatla Gram Panchayat premises in Nagarkurnool Mandal.
As part of the celebrations, free water bottles were distributed to students of Nagarkurnool Government Science Degree College and participants of the NSS winter camp.
Speaking at the event, Vasavi Club Governor Mididoddi Radhakrishna highlighted the growing issue of water scarcity worldwide. He stressed the need for responsible water usage and encouraged students to adopt water conservation practices at home.
Vasavi Club Cabinet Secretary Dr. L. Kodandaramaiah warned that rising global temperatures and excessive water wastage could lead to a severe water crisis in the future. He pointed out that water shortages could also impact the economy. To prevent this, he urged people to plant trees, create rainwater harvesting pits, and spread awareness about water conservation. He also encouraged students to take an active role in educating society on this important issue.
The event was attended by College Principal M. Anjaiah, Panchayat Secretary Anvesh, NSS Coordinator Ramakrishna Rao, Vasavi Club Nagarkurnool President Artham Sai Krishna, along with faculty members, students, and other dignitaries.
