Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister Capt N Uttam Kumar Reddy stated that the Congress government in Telangana is working to boost industries, information technology, and related sectors in the state. He made this announcement during his speech at the Hyderabad Business Seminar, which focused on promoting trade between the US and Telangana. The seminar was organized by the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) and American Telugu Association (ATA) at T-Hub.
During his speech, Uttam Kumar Reddy highlighted the achievements of the previous Congress Government from 2004 to 2014. He emphasized the role they played in developing global infrastructure in Hyderabad and attracting investments from leading companies worldwide. Projects like Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA), Outer Ring Road, and PV Narasimha Rao Expressway Corridor laid the foundation for Hyderabad’s status as a global city.
Uttam Kumar Reddy emphasized the importance of promoting higher education to build a strong talent pool. He expressed confidence that the new Congress Government will drive growth in Hyderabad and Telangana.
The minister outlined the government’s vision to advance industries, innovation, and information technology. He announced plans to promote these sectors in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities while strengthening existing infrastructure. The government aims to achieve equitable development across all regions of Telangana, not just in Hyderabad.
Uttam Kumar Reddy described Hyderabad as an attractive destination for global investors due to its favorable climate, conducive atmosphere, and talented workforce. He assured that despite the presence of global players, there are still ample opportunities for new investors in Hyderabad and other parts of Telangana.
The minister pledged to encourage existing companies to expand into Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities and invited global corporations to explore the potential in Telangana. He expressed confidence that the government’s initiatives will attract investments, improve infrastructure, and create employment opportunities on a large scale.
The seminar also featured speeches by Jennifer Larson, Consul General of the US Embassy in Hyderabad, CII Telangana Chairman C Shekar Reddy, and ATA President Jayanth Challa. They all emphasized the collaborative efforts towards fostering economic growth in the region.
