Juma-tul-Vida, the last Friday of the holy month of Ramzan, saw tens of thousands of worshippers in Hyderabad amid tight security. Thousands of Namazis overflowed from Mecca Masjid onto the streets of the Old City, with almost all mosques in the city packed with worshippers.

Over 10,000 people gathered at Mecca Masjid for prayers led by Khateeb Mecca Masjid Maulana Hafez Rizwan Qureshi. Worshippers were even praying on the road due to the mosque being full, but arrangements were made with carpets and mats inside and outside the mosque.

Youngsters were welcoming worshippers by applying ‘Attar’ to their hands, and the day was observed with great devotion at all mosques. Professional and amateur photographers captured scenes of children in traditional dress heading to prayers.

Muslims across the city observed the day with sanctity and reverence, offering prayers with renewed pledge to live according to Islamic teachings. Khateebs in their sermons emphasized practicing Islam in daily life, unity, and the significance of Ramzan.

Special prayers were offered for the country’s integrity, prosperity, unity among Muslims worldwide, and success for those fighting for their rights. Besides Mecca Masjid, other notable mosques like Shahi Masjid Nampally and Jama Masjid Mahboob Chowk also saw large crowds.

The Hyderabad police ensured foolproof security, with Commissioner K Sreenivasa Reddy inspecting Mecca Masjid and Charminar areas. Traffic diversions were in place due to the high turnout, but prayers proceeded peacefully under close police monitoring with the deployment of various security teams.
