MRPS Protests for SC Categorization in Jogulamba Gadwal

The Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) has launched a protest in Jogulamba Gadwal district, demanding the implementation of the SC categorization law. This protest comes under the direction of MRPS founder and Padma Shri awardee Manda Krishna Madiga. The group insists that the government must implement the law before releasing the results of Group 1, Group 2, and Group 3 recruitment exams.

The protest was led by MRPS district convener Pogula Rajesh Madiga. Several key figures, including BRS senior leader Nagar Doddi Venkataramulu and Madiga Lawyers’ Federation district president N. Vijay Kumar, joined the demonstration to show their support.

Speaking at the event, MRPS national senior leader Konakala Bheemanna Madiga pointed out that the Supreme Court has already supported the ABCD categorization of Scheduled Castes. He criticized Telangana Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy for not keeping his promise to implement this categorization, which he had made during an assembly session.

Bheemanna Madiga argued that releasing the recruitment results without addressing the categorization issue would be unfair to the Madiga sub-castes. He accused the Chief Minister of giving in to certain groups that oppose the proper categorization of Scheduled Castes.

    A 30-Year Fight for Justice

The MRPS has been fighting for ABCD categorization for the past 30 years. Their goal is to ensure fair opportunities in education, employment, and politics for Madiga sub-castes. However, the government’s decision to divide the SCs into only three categories (ABC) instead of four (ABCD) has sparked criticism from MRPS leaders.

“If the Chief Minister truly supports justice for the Madiga sub-castes, he must immediately fulfill his promise and implement the ABCD categorization,” said Konakala Bheemanna Madiga. He warned that if the demand is not met, MRPS is prepared for an even bigger struggle under the leadership of Manda Krishna Madiga.

    Growing Support for the Protest

Many MRPS leaders and activists took part in the protest, including MSP Party district in-charge V. Raju Madiga, Kanna Madiga, and MRPS district co-convener Bandari Thoom David Madiga. Other participants included Chintarevula Anjaneyulu, Gattu MRPS Mandal president Baligera Esanna Madiga, and several MRPS leaders such as Anjaneyulu, AIJ, Elisha Madiga, and former Maldakal Mandal president Thimmanna Madiga.

Additionally, journalist Bijwaram S. Tirumalesh, along with Bhaskar and Thimmanna, attended the protest to cover the event.

The MRPS protest in Jogulamba Gadwal district is a significant moment in the long-standing struggle for SC categorization. With increasing support from leaders and organizations, the movement is expected to grow stronger in the coming days.
