The Telangana government has started the Koti Vruksharchana program to plant one crore saplings across the state. The program was launched by MP Santhosh Kumar, along with Ministers Indrakaran Reddy, Sabita Indra Reddy, and Patnam Mahender Reddy, in the Manchirevus of Moinabad Mandal, Rangareddy District. The Forestrek Park in that area was also inaugurated by the MP and the ministers. Other important people like MP Ranjith Reddy, MLC Vanidevi, Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari, and MLAs also took part in the program.
The Manchirevu region, which used to have construction waste and a bad smell, has now become the Forestrek Park, a place for nature lovers. The park was developed by the Forest Department and the Telangana Forest Development Corporation (TSFDC) on a 256-acre land.
The park has many facilities including a drinking water plant, toilet block, watchtower, village deity temple, open gymnasium, walking track, rock paintings, trekking amphitheater, waterfall, balancing stones, baby elephant, eagle face, rocking stones, and sitting benches. The watchtower offers a great view of the Hyderabad skyline.
The Forestrek Park is expected to make around Rs. 3 lakhs per month and provide jobs to 11 individuals on an outsourcing basis. It is predicted to attract hundreds of visitors daily and up to 2,000 people on Sundays, especially for trekking activities.
