Nagar Kurnool Parliament member Pothuganti Ramulu and Gadwal MLA Bandla Krisnamohan Reddy unveiled the screen of Amrit Bharat Rail station at Gadwal railway station. This initiative was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to develop 554 railway stations and 1,500 road cum over bridges and underpasses across the country.
MP Ramulu expressed his happiness about Gadwal railway station being selected for the Amrit Bharath program. This program will bring better amenities such as modern toilets, escalators, and one station one product store with an allocated budget of Rs 9.49 crore. He also urged railway authorities to start development activities on the 100 acres of railway land donated by Princess Adi Lakshmi Devamma from the Nala Somanadri Dynasty.
Gadwal MLA Krishnamohan Reddy highlighted the importance of the Gadwal people marketing their products in distant areas. He requested railway authorities to ensure that all 20 new trains passing through Gadwal station make a stop there. Additionally, he mentioned that the railway line from Macharla to Raichur was completed in 2013, but the doubling works to Dhone were still pending.
Railway Divisional Manager Arun Kumar Sharma explained the plans for the Amrit Bharath Rail Station Scheme. This includes developing the main entrance and passenger areas with clean surroundings, lifts, escalators, waiting halls, and signboards. One station one product shops will also be established, along with better lighting, parking facilities, and accessibility for disabled individuals.
At the event, dignitaries honored students who participated in essay writing and elocution competitions. Municipal Chairman BS Keshav, Additional Collector Musini Venkateshwarlu, railway staff, and students from various colleges were present at the program.
