Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar announced that tenders for the Karimnagar-Jagtial expansion work will be finalized within 15 days as part of PM Modi’s 100-day action plan. He reviewed the National Highway expansion work under the Karimnagar Parliament Constituency, focusing on widening the Karimnagar-Jagtial and Karimnagar-Warangal NH 563.
During a meeting with NH officials in Karimnagar, Bandi inquired about the progress and obstacles in the Karimnagar-Warangal NH work. He also looked into the reasons for delays in the execution of work from Karimnagar to Jagtial, including the pace of land acquisition.
The tender process for the Karimangar-Jagtial NH widening works is set to begin within 15 days, with a possibility of starting work by September. Bandi mentioned that 40% of the land acquisition process for the road has been completed, with bypass roads being constructed in three areas. The expansion work includes building six major bridges, 18 minor bridges, and 195 culverts over a 58-km stretch, costing an estimated Rs.2,227 crore.
The minister assured NH officials that he would address issues related to land acquisition with district collectors and department officials to expedite the process. He also discussed the progress of NH expansion from Karimnagar to Warangal, emphasizing the need to complete the work by July 2025.
Bandi highlighted the importance of timely completion to ensure public accessibility. Bypasses will be constructed at various locations, with plans for 29 minor junctions as part of the project. Challenges in land acquisition at specific areas were addressed promptly during the meeting, with instructions given to resolve any issues without inconveniencing people and farmers.
