Schedule Released for Long Break After 13 Days: Teachers’ Unions Delighted
Hyderabad, July 3 (Namaste Telangana): The School Education Department has brought good news to the teachers eagerly awaiting transfers. The department has released the transfer schedule and announced that transfers will be effective from Monday. The transfer process started on Wednesday and will continue until the 29th. Transfers will be done through online web counseling. Teachers have been directed to access the website https://schooledu.telangana.gov.in for transfers, according to the Director of School Education, Shreedevi Sen. Out of the 194 model schools in the state, 3 teachers and 90 principals have already been transferred. They will be transferred within 13 days. The teachers who have completed at least 5 years of service are eligible for transfers. However, only those who have completed a minimum of 17 years of service will be transferred as per the new guidelines. The transfers of teachers from model schools to new districts under G.O.Ms.No.317 are pending in court.
Teachers as Victims of Policy Changes
The regular recruitment of teachers in model schools was carried out according to the whims of the previous government and officials. However, unlike regular teachers, contract teachers were not given job security. Although the notification was issued in 2011, it was not until 2013-14 that teachers were recruited for ten years. However, even the roster points were not followed. Even teachers faced uncertainty as they were not given job security. Only one teacher was recruited for three subjects – Telugu, English, and Mathematics – in one school. They were posted only when there was a vacancy.
Teachers Forced to Travel Long Distances
Due to the lackadaisical attitude of the previous government, many teachers like contractual workers are suffering. Several teachers are forced to travel long distances of 150 to 200 kilometers from their residences. With the recent transfers, model school teachers are getting opportunities to work in nearby districts. The joy of the teachers’ unions at the release of the transfer schedule is evident. They have thanked the ministers and the government for their support. The president of the Telangana Model School Teachers’ Association (TMSTA), Yakamalli Bhutam, and the state president of the PTI Telangana (PTI-TS), Jagadeesh, expressed their gratitude.
In conclusion, the release of the transfer schedule by the School Education Department has brought relief and happiness to teachers who have been eagerly awaiting transfers. The new guidelines ensure job security for teachers and offer them opportunities to work closer to their residences. The teachers’ unions have expressed their appreciation to the government for addressing their concerns and taking steps to improve the education system in the state.
