The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has decided to extend the term of all nominated members of the 56 Cantonment Boards across the country, including the Secunderabad Cantonment Board, for an additional year.

According to an official order issued by the MoD, the earlier extension of six months, which began on February 10, 2023, was set to end on February 10, 2024. However, the term has now been extended once more. The new term will begin on February 11, 2024, and will remain in effect until February 10, 2026.
