The YSR Congress Party has made some changes in their candidate lineup for the upcoming elections. Ponnur MLA Kilaru Venkata Rosaiah has been named as the incharge for the Guntur Lok Sabha seat, while Chandragiri MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy will be in charge of the Ongole Lok Sabha seat.
Rosaiah’s nomination for the Guntur Lok Sabha seat came as a surprise, as the party initially wanted Narasaraopet MP Lavu Srikrishna Devarayalu to run for the seat. However, Devarayalu declined and left the party to join the TDP. As a temporary measure, Dr Ummareddy Venkata Ramana was named as the incharge for Guntur Lok Sabha seat, but the party ultimately chose Rosaiah, who is the son-in-law of Dr Venkateswarlu, for the position.
Meanwhile, Ambati Murali has been selected as the party’s nominee for the Ponnur Assembly seat. Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy has been moved from the Chandragiri Assembly seat to the Ongole Lok Sabha seat. This decision was made after the party denied a ticket to sitting MP Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy, who subsequently left the party and may run for the Ongole parliament seat with the TDP’s support.
In addition, Bhaskar Reddy’s son, Chevireddy Mohit Reddy, will be the YSRCP’s nominee for the Chandragiri Assembly seat. The party also announced Burra Madhusudan Yadav as their candidate for the Kandukur Assembly seat, replacing Manugunta Maheedhar Reddy. Another change includes Kalatthur Kripa Rani being named as the candidate for the Gangadhara Nellore Assembly seat in Chittoor district.
