Veerlapalli Shankar, the MLA of Shadnagar, on Saturday, spotlighted the perceived neglect in developmental projects at the Jahangir Pir Dargah, laying the blame on the BRS representatives. Speaking passionately at a public governance gathering in Inmulnarva village, Shankar underscored the stark disparity between the Dargah’s considerable earnings and its apparent lack of infrastructural growth.
Shankar didn’t mince words as he criticized the BRS leadership, accusing them of spreading misleading information to sway public opinion, particularly when initiatives for the Dargah’s enhancement were proposed by Congress. He lamented the fact that, all too often, the BRS’s agenda seemed driven more by individual interests than the broader developmental requirements of the revered site.
Drawing a historical parallel, Shankar recalled instances where influential figures, like the former Home Minister Mahmood Ali, seemingly visited the Dargah with ulterior motives rather than genuine intent for its upliftment. He expressed deep-seated concerns about the trend of superficial gestures over tangible progress.
Yet, amidst these critiques, Shankar offered a glimmer of optimism. He pledged that, under the stewardship of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the area would witness transformative infrastructural growth. Emphasizing the government’s dedication, Shankar spotlighted initiatives like housing provisions in exchange for ration cards, signaling a renewed commitment to uplift the region.
In his concluding remarks, Shankar issued a word of caution to the public, urging them to remain vigilant against deceptive narratives, particularly those peddled by opposition factions such as the BRS. With an unwavering commitment to his constituents, Shankar emphasized his allegiance to addressing the genuine needs of the region, setting aside any partisan biases.
