Dalit families in Palakeedu, Huzurnagar (Suryapet), staged a protest on Saturday. They demanded that the Dalit Bandhu Scheme should be applied to all eligible Dalit families. The local MLA, Sanampudi Saidireddy, was passing by when the protest occurred. The protestors stopped his vehicle and questioned him about the biased selection process for the scheme. The police intervened and arrested the protestors. When asked about the situation, the MLA reassured that every Dalit family would eventually receive the scheme. He mentioned that the Chief Minister, KCR, was determined to uplift Dalits through this unique scheme available only in Telangana.
