    Hyderabad: Yakutpura MLA Jaffar Hussain Meraj has started new road construction projects to improve infrastructure in the Yakutpura constituency. On Tuesday, he launched the laying of new concrete (CC) roads in different areas of the Santosh Nagar division.

    Jaffar Hussain, along with Santosh Nagar division Corporator Mohammed Muzaffar Hussain, inspected the area. They reviewed ongoing development projects in multiple localities to ensure progress.

    During the inspection, they checked the construction of new CC roads in MB Hatt and nearby areas. Muzaffar Hussain mentioned that five CC road projects had begun, with a total budget of ₹38.71 lakh.

    In addition to road construction, a budget of over ₹2.5 crore was recently approved for other development works in Santosh Nagar. These projects include installing new sewerage and drinking water pipelines, beautifying junctions, and re-carpeting roads.

    Residents of Old Santosh Nagar Colony, New Santosh Nagar Colony, Azad Nagar, and CRIDA Road have been facing problems like sewage overflow and a shortage of drinking water. These issues are due to outdated infrastructure that does not meet current needs. To solve these problems, work has begun on upgrading the pipelines to improve water supply and sewage management.
