Nizamabad MLA P Sudarshan Reddy has highlighted the importance of cultivating high-quality fish seeds to help improve the lives of fishermen and boost their financial well-being.
As part of the Fishery Development Scheme for 2024-2025, fish seeds are being distributed with a 100% subsidy. On Tuesday, MLA Sudarshan Reddy, along with Collector Rajeev Gandhi Hanumanthu, released fish seeds into the Ashok Sagar tank in Janakampet, Edapally mandal. Officials and members of the Fishery Industrial Cooperative Society were also present at the event.
A total of 57,300 fish seeds were released into the Ashok Sagar tank. Across the district, 2.27 crore fish seeds will be released this year. The MLA emphasized the importance of ensuring that the fish seeds meet quality standards before they are released. If any problems are identified, they should be reported to the district officials right away.
In addition, the MLA talked about plans to install iron fencing around the Ashok Sagar tank and remove water hyacinth, which is harmful to fish cultivation. The event was attended by several important figures, including State Urdu Academy Chairman Taher Bin Handan, Trainee Collector Sanket Kumar, Former MLC A Narsareddy, and Fisheries Department District Officer Anjaneya Swamy.
