Suryapet: MLA Nalamada Padmavathi Supports Development of District Library
Kodad MLA Nalamada Padmavathi has pledged her support for the development of the district library in Suryapet. She made this announcement while speaking at the inauguration of the 37th Library Week celebrations on Thursday.
The event was attended by District Collector Tejas Nandalal Pawar. Both leaders highlighted the important role that libraries play in community learning and development. As part of the celebrations, MLA Padmavathi garlanded the statue of Vattikota Alwar Swamy.
In her speech, MLA Padmavathi stressed her commitment to modernising the library. She plans to introduce digitisation and a free lunch programme for readers. With her background in architectural engineering, she also offered to help design a new library building that would meet the community’s needs.
Several individuals responded to her call for support. Suryapet Market Committee Chairman Vena Reddy pledged Rs 1,00,000 for the library’s development. Additionally, Amjad Ali contributed Rs 10,000, which was handed over to District Library Chairman Vangaveti Rama Rao through MLA Padmavathi.
Furthermore, MLA Padmavathi promised to assist with municipal cess payments to ensure the smooth operation of the library. She also advocated for allocating land for the construction of a new library facility in Suryapet.
During her visit, the MLA took time to speak with library readers. She listened to their concerns and encouraged them to share suggestions for improving the library’s facilities and services.
