Hanumakonda: Vardhannapet MLA KR Nagaraju inaugurated the All India Men’s Tennis Tournament on Saturday. The tournament is being held at the Warangal Club in Subedari, Hanumakonda, in memory of senior tennis player Srinivas Goud. It features a prize pool of ₹2.5 lakhs.
The event is organized by the Warangal District Tennis Association and is part of the All India Tennis Association’s National Level Men’s Open Tournament. MLA Nagaraju attended the event as the chief guest and officially started the games by performing the toss.
Players and mentors from across the country have come to participate in the tournament. Many of them also expressed interest in exploring the cultural and historical landmarks of the Warangal district. They plan to visit famous temples and tourist attractions from the Kakatiya era during their stay.
MLA Nagaraju interacted with the players, wished them success, and encouraged them to strive for great achievements. Before the tournament began, he paid floral tributes to a portrait of tennis player Sridhar.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Warangal Club President Satyanarayana Reddy, Vice Presidents Ella Murugu and Rajeshwar Rao, Secretary Mohan Reddy, Treasurer Praveen, Joint Secretary Kannareddy, EC members, players, and other attendees.
