Huzurnagar: Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy said he is proud that Huzurnagar has been chosen as the place to launch the Fine Rice Scheme. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will officially start the scheme on Sunday.
On Friday, Minister Reddy met with Congress leaders and workers after checking the arrangements for the CM’s public meeting. He said this launch is a historic event for Huzurnagar.
The Minister, along with Kodad MLA Padmavati, asked Congress members to help spread the word about the scheme and make sure it is successful. He said that choosing Huzurnagar for the launch shows how important the area is in Telangana’s politics and development.
The Fine Rice Scheme, worth Rs 12,000 crore, is being funded by both the Central and State governments. It will provide 6 kilograms of fine rice per person to all ration cardholders in Telangana.
Minister Reddy said this is the biggest fine rice distribution programme in the country and will help 84% of the people in Telangana. He also claimed that no other state in India has a welfare scheme as large as this.
