Housing Minister Orders Quick Selection for Indiramma Houses
Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy has directed officials to quickly review applications for the Indiramma Houses scheme. These applications were submitted during Gram Sabhas held in January. He urged officials to start selecting beneficiaries without delay.
During a review meeting on Monday, the Minister stressed that the selection process should consider local conditions. He insisted that officials take strict measures to ensure only eligible people benefit from the scheme. He also encouraged the use of technology to improve the selection process and maintain fairness.
The Minister warned that if ineligible people are found benefiting from the scheme, their names will be removed—even if house construction has already begun. He emphasized that many poor families across the state are waiting for these houses. Officials must ensure transparency and select only the most deserving individuals.
To maintain fairness, eligibility should be verified at the time of application. The Minister stated that identifying ineligible candidates early will prevent them from being included in the final list of beneficiaries.
