Hyderabad: Endowments Minister Konda Surekha has urged all political parties, organizations, and individuals to avoid turning issues related to God and temples into political matters.

She explained that God is above politics and is respected by everyone, stressing Hyderabad’s long-standing tradition of religious harmony. This tradition, she said, is reflected in the city’s preservation of the Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb, a symbol of cultural unity.

Speaking about the recent incident at the Muthyalamma Temple, Surekha assured the public that the State government is taking the matter very seriously. She informed that the culprits were quickly arrested, and strict legal action will be taken to ensure justice is served.

The Minister also condemned attempts by certain groups to disrupt communal peace and harmony. She warned opposition parties not to use this issue for political gain. Surekha highlighted that the government responded immediately, sending officials from the Endowments Department to inspect the temple and take necessary actions without delay.

Additionally, Surekha revealed that the Principal Secretary of the Endowments Department has been instructed to visit the Muthyalamma Temple on Wednesday for a detailed assessment. She urged officials and the local community to stay vigilant in protecting temples from any future attacks.

In conclusion, the Minister called on everyone to maintain the religious harmony for which Hyderabad has always been known.
