    Minister Srinivas Yadav, speaking as a guest at the Bonalu festivities and Bathukamma celebrations held today, said that it is a matter of pride for us that these festivals have become internationally recognized. The Minister started the festivities by conducting special prayers at the Jagadish Temple in Tank Bund, Hyderabad.

    Speaking on this occasion, after the formation of Telangana state, Chief Minister KCR declared these festivals as state festivals and the government has been organizing them with great pomp and splendor. He also mentioned that farmers have been demanding for many years that Bonalu festivities be celebrated as a state festival, and this month, Bonalu will commence in Golconda on the 22nd, followed by Sikindraabad Bonalu on the 9th of July, and Old City Bonalu on the 16th. He urged everyone to celebrate the Bonalu festivals with great enthusiasm.

    It was revealed that Rs. 15 crore has been allocated for financial assistance to temples. It is said that only in Telangana state in the country, the Department of Endowments provides financial assistance to temples within certain limits. The government is working towards the protection of culture and traditions and takes pride in their preservation. The Chief Minister stated that people should be happy and celebrate festivals with great grandeur. In the event, Mushiirabad MLA Gopal and leaders of the Kummaris Association were present.
