Telangana is the only state in India that sets up procurement centers in every major village mandal headquarters to buy paddy from farmers during each cropping season. Excise Minister Srinivas Goud inaugurated a new paddy procurement center near Manyam Konda Stage under Mahabubanagar Rural Mandal on Saturday. The government ensures that all necessary facilities are available for farmers at these centers to make the procurement process easy and convenient. This includes 24/7 free electricity, irrigation water, and input capital through the Rythu Bhandu scheme.

Before the formation of Telangana, farmers in Palamuru district faced many difficulties, such as deep debts and lack of water for their crops. Many had to sell their land to pay for their children’s education and marriages. However, after 2014, the situation has improved greatly. The government is now procuring paddy from farmers at the best MSP price and supporting them in cultivating various crops. This has enabled farmers to earn a happy livelihood in their own villages.
