Hyderabad Aims to Become a Global Hub for GCCs and AI
Hyderabad has the potential to become a global destination for Global Capability Centres (GCCs) and the Artificial Intelligence (AI) sector, according to IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu. The city boasts strong infrastructure and a skilled workforce, making it a competitive player on the global stage.
The Minister shared these views on Tuesday during the signing of a bilateral trade partnership agreement between the US-India Business Council (USIBC) and Telangana. He highlighted the proactive steps taken by the state government to create a world-class ecosystem for establishing GCCs in Hyderabad.
“Hyderabad is already home to leading global players in IT, healthcare, and life sciences GCCs,” said Minister Sridhar Babu. “Our goal is to replicate the innovative spirit of Silicon Valley here. We are focused on fostering research and development, which is vital for future growth.”
The Minister also emphasized Hyderabad’s key role in the global economic growth story and the state’s ambition to lead India’s AI sector. He pointed out the development of a dedicated AI city spread over 200 acres, which positions Telangana ahead of other states in this field.
In addition to its strengths in IT and AI, Hyderabad offers a favorable environment for industries like aerospace, defense, energy, banking, digital payments, and industrial manufacturing. Minister Sridhar Babu invited global businesses to invest in the state and urged the US-India Business Council to help connect Telangana with American companies.
Several dignitaries attended the event, including US Consul General Jennifer Larson, Telangana’s Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, USIBC Managing Director Rahul Sharma, and Senior Director Aditya Kaushik. The Minister reaffirmed Telangana’s commitment to innovation and industrial growth, further solidifying Hyderabad’s reputation as a global hub for business and technology.
